Sarah Najihah

It was last Sunday and I went to Shah Alam for a family's friend event; Aqiqah of their first ever grandchild.

She likes the camera! She tried to give her best post in front of me while I'm pressing the shutter around her.

Thanx for the nice food. I like the kambing very much even though i've got a lil diarrhea not so long after.

Structures

This is how the old time malay structure looked like. The malays used to build wooden houses with zinc roof which were so hot in the day but shivering cold at night. That was also how the malay female maintained their body weight by having the natural sauna in their house. The night cold is merely good for anything on bed.

This is taken from the Rumah Limas near the Danga Bay of Johor Bahru.

;iso-400, F/3.5, 1/15s, 18mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

I have this kind of problem of my sight becoming not centered focus when I'm shooting. Look at this.

I'd still like this picture taken at the KLPAC. The structure is the normal structure being used all over the country for the pedestrian walk but this one is just a lil bit nicer.

;iso-100, F/3.6, 1/160s, 18mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

I'm not so sure about the exact influence of this building structure but it is clearly that it has the english touch. This is the JB's court building of which is quite smart and glooming at night.

It gives you some creeky scary feeling during the day. But it's really nice at night.

The repetitive roof structure that actually looks very malaysian cultured design from the outside.

It's the opposite grand stand of the Sepang International Circuit.

Familiar? It's among the latest design not on building, but bridge. Taken at putrajaya.

Shadows Formed

Does this remind you of something? Microsoft Windows maybe?

;iso-100, F/5.6, 1/160s, 106mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

When I was reading my book, I found a nice pattern formed on my book.

Can you guys ever guess what the hell was that?

Lights formed a pattern on the trees in a very dark and thick forest at around 6 o'clock in the afternoon.

Seamen Lifestyle

This is like a small port where we put all the boats there. These boats is used to take out the mangrove forest product out. I like the reflections.

This is Lis. I myself surprised when I first got his number, i thought he's a girl. It took me days to call him because I'm shy. Hahaha. He's actually my partner.

So he took me and BOY, the boy beside him to the sea; to the kelong. I'm not so sure if they call the place where they breed and grew fishes kelong (cay-long) also.

The ode of light

How i wish I have the tobacco filter so that i can see the result with this picture. This thing is bonang, one of the instruments in the gamelan thingy.

;iso-200, F/3.5, 1/60s, 18mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

Dim lights were nicely biased and reflected by the bottles.

;iso-400, F/5.6, 1/40s, 88mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

At the kopitiam in the lowyat plaza, the lights are very dim. It won't stop me from taking this nice shot. (Nice kah? perasan aku ini)

;iso-800, F/4.5, 1/30s, 33mm, shutter-priority, ev+1.0

Apa ni? Gear knob? I don't know i just like it. I love the way light being dispersed on the top of that gearknob of my fronty. There are 2 areas, which one is the light from the side window and another one from the front screen.

GAM.E.LAN

Beberapa minggu lalu, saya berpeluang untuk meninjau-ninjau orang bermain gamelan sambil mengambil gambar. Setelah agak lama menunggu sebelum bermula, saya pun mula mengambil gambar mereka-mereka itu.

Awek ni muka dia macam wayang kulit, kan? Macam watak-watak ramayana dan sebagainya. Tapi kurang sporting sebab pada asalnya tak membenarkan saya ambil gambar. Sifu pun bagi, dia pulak yang tak bagi.

Anyway, main benda alah ni sangat susah. Dia macam xylophone yang diperbuat daripada kayu tapi mempunyai 3 pentave (as in octave).

Saya ambil gambar ini kerana saya rasa awek ini best. Tapi dia memang pandai main alat-alatan gamelan ni pun. Nak buat cemana. Jadilah saya lelaki yang tidak kaya.

Macam pernah kulihat tapi di mana yer? Apa lah agaknya yang si Faridah Merican (have I touched the right button now?) ketawakan?

Memang stim main gendang ni babe! Sampai lelap-lelap mata mamat tu (yang sekarang berada di Jakarta) main benda alah gendang tu.

Gua pun tak tahan. Lama-lama gua pun main jugak. Senang giler. Dah la ada 5 notes aje (which explains why i call it pentave).

Puisi :: Kedahlah Tajuknya

Kedahlah Tajuknya

Kedah 'o' Kedah,
Kedah o'clock,
Kedah yang begitu Kedah,
Sangatlah Kedah negeri Kedah itu,
Kedah berpadi Kedah bersawah,
Padi masih tak cukup-cukup,
Masih import padi dari Siam,
Siam berjiran dengan Kedah jua,
Ada budak MMU@ITTM yang bernama SIAM,
Siapakah nama dia ek? Lupa sudah...

Kedah negeri Mahathir,
Negeri Tunku Abdul Rahman too,
Tapi Tuanku Abdul Rahman orang Negeri Sembilan,
Sanusi Junid pun Kedah,
Mana orang Melaka ni?

Kedah mahsuri Kedah tak berdarah merah,
Mahsuri masyhur dek Kedah,
Kedah masyhur dek Mahsuri.

Soalannya : Siapa lebih masyhur, Kedah atau Mahsuri?

* nyanyikan ikut lagu enjit-enjit semut.

The tree with the lights going through the leaves. It looks so nice from within.

One may look at it as nothing. But that fat boy is just so special.

Abang polis, who were shy when his picture were taken. Taken when our car was just about to be inspected by the police.

An overexposed picture of the paddy field, purposely to highlight the green-ness of the paddy plant. Shot taken from a moving car.

;iso-100, F/8, 1/200s, 106mm, shutter-priority

The northern part of Malaysia's climate is slightly different from the climate in the southern; thus the canopy/umbrella kind of trees were somekind of dominating all over places. The lorry looked so cute underneath it. Shot taken from a moving car.

KL at times

During lunch time, it was obvious that people were rushing out for lunch. There are some people were doing other things. What were they doing?

Headache! There were a lot of cars. Kancil overtaking from the left, motorbike speeding at the wrong lane, and a shot of a motorbike just before he was knocked by another motorbike.
